Laser Therapy Applications

Back Pain

One of the most common complaints in my clinic is lower back pain. I often place back pain patients into two categories: simple and complex. Simple back pain patients complain pain only in the lower back without any radiating nerve pain in the buttocks and legs. Complex lower back pain patients are those with one-sided sciatica or/and bilateral nerve pain in the legs and feet. Simple back pain treatment is relatively straight forward with electro-acupuncture and laser in the lower back. The acupuncture-laser combo is very effective for this type. Laser acupuncture devices from Konftec are suitable and effective. Complex ones may need Weberneedle system from Weber Medical because it has highest power density necessary for deeper penetration to treat nerve roots and sciatic nerves.

Bone Healing

Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) is the best to help speed up fractured bone healing. Both Konftec and Weber Medical lasers will do. But generally I use Konftec lasers for shallower bones like in feet and fingers while Weber Medical lasers for deeper bones like in the pelvic areas. I treated many cyclists’ bone fractures in my city with very
fast recovery.

Chronic Soft Tissue Pain Healing
(FAST method)

Over 70% of my clinic pain cases are related to chronic soft tissue pain. I invented this unique treatment protocol that incorporates friction massage, electro-acupuncture, laser therapy, and infrared heat to cure pain in 8 to 10 treatments. I will introduce a certification program in 2022. All laser devices from Konftec, Weber Medical, and PainAway Laser will work in the clinic depending on whether the target areas are deep or shallow. PainAway Laser will be the “Laser-of-the-Choice” for the FAST certification program.

IV Laser Therapy

A unique way to deliver low-level laser light intravenously for photodynamic therapy (PDT) application. Only Weber Medical offers a device to do that.

Knee Pain

Common complaints in knees are chronic ligamental sprains and osteoarthritis. Generally FAST protocol can cure the soft tissue issues and minor osteoarthritis can be taken care of by Konftec laser acupuncture device, but severe osteoarthritis in knees may need intra-articular protocol from Weber Medical’s Endolaser system to deliver laser light effectively into the knee joint capsule to ease inflammation.

Neurological

Nervous system related complaints like sciatica, shingles pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, peripheral neuropathy, and brain diseases are some of the most difficult conditions to treat. Laser again is the best tool to help rejuvenate and heal nervous injuries. Integrative approaches are absolutely necessary to improve clinical outcomes. Effective protocol to treat neurological issues combines electro-acupuncture, laser acupuncture, and laser therapy.

Neuropathy

Very common now in acupuncturist clinics these days since patients with this peripheral nervous system dysfunction complaints come to us as last resort when everything they have tried fails to ease their nerve pain in feet or/and hands. I use Konftec’s laser acupuncture device and electro-acupuncture help these patients tremendously.
